Right off the bat, the statues that I started designing we’re looking a little too Roman or Greek since I wanted a Norse aesthetic but with the detail level of a Greek statue. To solve the issue of detail I did what the Norse carvings did. Simplify the outer silhouette and shape but create incredibly complex details inside of the form.
In a way we wanted an idealized, heroic and incredibly majestic version of Thor. A version that was put out there but didn’t exactly match with his eventual in game version.
